New Artwork by Paula Swaydan Grebel at Mr. Helsinki

More than 25 colorful still life paintings and sketches by Paula Swaydan Grebel will be on display and for sale at the Mr. Helsinki Restaurant in Fish Creek from July 13 to August 29. The opening reception is July 18, 5 – 6 pm.

Swaydan Grebel is an award-winning artist who translates the color of the studio into still lifes with bold loose images. She has been the recipient of awards both for plein air and still life paintings. Her work is in the collection of the Cedarburg Art Museum, corporations and private collections throughout the US and internationally. Swaydan Grebel studied in Wisconsin, California, and Philadelphia, with a BFA from California State University Long Beach.

Swaydan Grebel is also a long-term instructor at the Peninsula School of Art in Fish Creek. The works at Mr. Helsinki represent her latest still life focus. Informed by foundations of composition and form, her work borders on abstract, the paintings are a daring expression of simple inanimate objects of the studio.

She is represented by Tory Folliard Gallery, Milwaukee, and Woodwalk Gallery in Egg Harbor.
