Scott Leipski’s new ceramics works are being shown at Cappaert Contemporary Gallery in Egg Harbor. Leipski considers himself an outsider artist who is mostly self-taught. After becoming a full-time artist, he spent the first year developing a style and honing his craft.
“Being an artist is learning from failure. There was a lot of that when I first started. But the failures made the successes so much sweeter. You learn, you grow, and you become less afraid of the failure and enjoy experimentation more,” said Leipski.
His ceramics are derived from the storyteller inside of him. His works are created in clay that is cast from old molds and then hand formed into “storytelling pieces.”
Leipski joins more than 30 contemporary artists currently being represented at Cappaert Contemporary Gallery. The gallery is located at 7901 Highway 42 in Egg Harbor and is open daily at 10 am.
