New EMR Crew Chief in Baileys Harbor

Dan Kiehnau was appointed emergency medical responder (EMR) crew chief at a Baileys Harbor Town Board meeting Dec. 9. Kiehnau will take over for former EMR crew chief Bill Reifsnyder, who resigned in December 2022 after 12 years of service.

Two members of the EMR crew expressed interest in the crew chief position, so instead of appointing one of the candidates himself, Baileys Harbor fire chief Brian Zak held a vote.

“The vote came through, and it was almost unanimously Dan Kiehnau,” Zak said.

Kiehnau has been part of the EMR crew in Baileys Harbor for three and a half years, according to Zak. Prior to that, Kiehnau served as the EMR crew chief for the Egg Harbor Fire Department.
