Two Door County artists, Beverly Hart Branson and Jan Forkert, will share the spotlight in the upcoming exhibit at the Meadows Art Gallery. The exhibit is on display for the month of March with an artist reception on March 9 from 2 – 4 pm.
Branson works in watercolor, oil, ink and pencil creating imaginary mixed media images from nature. When asked about her artwork she states, “On my journey as a pilgrim, I create visual reminders of my fleeting glimpses of infinite beauty in nature and the spheres.”
Branson’s artwork can be seen, by appointment, at her Treetop Studio in Sturgeon Bay.
Forkert finds inspiration in nature and uses mixed media in her paintings, striving for the feel of texture transposed through abstract expression. She is a member of the Experimental Artists Association, focused on the use of nontraditional materials to create works of fine art. She brings this same inspiration from nature to her silversmith and enameling work, creating one-of-a-kind pieces of jewelry.
Forkert teaches workshops at The Clearing and her artwork can be found at Woodwalk Gallery in Fish Creek.
The Meadows Art Gallery is located just inside the entrance to The Meadows at the Scandia Village in Sister Bay. The exhibit is open to the community during regular business hours.
