Edgewood Orchard Galleries is hosting its second opening reception of the season July 16, 4-7 pm, and the featured artists will talk about their current work at 5 pm in the gallery’s courtyard. On July 17, 1-3 pm, Ginnie Cappaert will be in the courtyard for an oil and cold-wax painting demonstration.
The first floor of the Courtyard Gallery will feature the work of painter Dale Olsen, who’s known for his Door County shoreline paintings. He also painted the cherry blossoms that appeared on the cover of this year’s Edgewood Orchard Galleries calendar.
The one-of-a-kind jewelry pieces of Marcia McDonough will be featured in two jewelry cases on the main level in the Gallery Barn. Her innovative tree-of-life medallions and other eclectic centerpieces are interchangeable with the elegant strands she creates to give wearers many options.
Deanna Clayton’s colorful, captivating glass pieces will also be on exhibit in the main gallery. Using the glass-casting technique called pâte de verre, she’s created a wonderful new collection for this show.
Ginnie Cappaert will have her paintings on the main floor of the Edgewood Barn. She creates the distinctive look of her oil and cold-wax paintings by applying dozens of layers of different colors of oil paint mixed with cold wax along with metallic pigments.
