New Festival in Baileys Harbor, Feb. 7-9

The Baileys Harbor Community Association is launching a new festival this year – The Winter Carnivale on Feb. 7 – 9. Friday night festivities include a bonfire, food, drinks and music at the Baileys Harbor Rec Park from 5 to 9 pm.

Saturday’s activities will be held throughout town including the ice on Kangaroo Lake. The first Door County Pond Hockey Tournament begins at 8:30 am and runs until 4 pm. Registration is open and can be found on baileysharbor.com. (Teams for Saturday’s tournament can check in early on Friday night.)

There will also be snowmobile, ATV, and vehicle time trials and radar runs from 10 am – 2 pm. There will be parking available at the Rec Park and a trolley running people down to the lake from 10 am – 2 pm. If you want something a little slower paced, there are snowshoe hikes and geocaching at The Ridges Sanctuary. Later in the evening, Unity the Band will sing the night away at Maxwelton Braes Lodge from 6:30 – 10:30 pm. The band is sponsored by the Baileys Harbor Community Association. Event space was donated by Maxwelton Braes Lodge and there will be a cash bar and an all-you-can-eat chili bar for $8.99 by Max Supper Club.

Round off the weekend right with Sunday morning at the Baileys Harbor Town Hall with a Farmers Market and the Baileys Harbor Historical Society’s Quilting Bee.
