New Groups to Perform at Door County Renaissance Faire

Cavallo Equestrian Arts is one of the new acts to perform at the Renaissance Faire.

The fourth annual Door County Renaissance Faire returns to Carlsville June 29 – 30 and July 6 -7.

“We are setting the stage for a dazzling season, adding new performers, new activities, new merchants and welcoming old favorites back as well,” says Lady Bliss, a.k.a. Sandy Stetler, executive director of the founding organization.

Cavallo Equestrian Arts is one of the new groups making a premier appearance this year. For decades this Italian family has recreated historical equestrian martial arts, performing nationwide in festivals and Hollywood film productions.

Stroll through winding forest paths lined with entertainers and merchants to the jousting arena where the Knights of Cavallo will amaze faire patrons with their breathtaking technical expertise and timeless reenactment.

Have Court, Will Travel with Queen Catherine, King Edward and numerous Lords and Ladies will again preside over the Faire Kingdom. They will reign at the opening and closing of the gates, bestow knighthood on those who are true at heart and attend to the young lasses and their lords seeking ladies in waiting ceremonies.

Four grand stages will provide continuous entertainment throughout each day from the high-energy musical performances of Merry Measure, to sensuous dance, magic, juggling, fire-eating, weapon handling, and hunting with hounds. In the lanes, you may encounter real faeries, a rat catcher, or meet up with the Baron of Bubbles, and diabolical pirates.
