New Horizons Band Offers Spring Classes

The Peninsula New Horizons Band (PNHB) program was developed for adults who wish to learn to play a band instrument, or re-learn an instrument they used to play. For students that wish to learn woodwind, brass and percussion instruments, the Spring 2018 session is 15 weeks long. The weekly two-hour lesson and rehearsal are held every Thursday from Feb. 1 – March 24 (except March 29) from 6:30-8:30 pm at Bay View Lutheran Church. The cost is $150. Classes are fun and informal, and provide a nice opportunity to mix with like-minded adults who love band music and instruments.

Founding member Paula Eggert – music instructor for brass instruments and former director of the Peninsula Symphonic Community Band – serves as the PNHB’s conductor. Anika Enger and Mark Fischer continue as additional instructors for students playing brass instruments; both are also active members of the Peninsula Symphonic Band. Amy Johnson is New Horizon’s woodwind instructor.

If you’re unsure which instrument you’d like to learn, call or email to make an appointment to try out various instruments. For more information and to download an application form, visit NewHorizonsBandDoorCo.com or their “Peninsula New Horizons Band” on Facebook. For more information, contact Eggert at 920.724.1235 or [email protected].
