New Ideas Solicited for Blue Sky-Greener Pastures Projects

Wisconsin has over 2 million acres of pasture but only about 1/4 of those acres are under rotational management to maximize yield and quality. Despite its many social, economic, and environmental benefits, managed grazing is far from reaching its full potential. Blue Sky-Greener Pastures is a new initiative that seeks to generate new thinking and imaginative projects to extend the benefits of grazing to more producers, more businesses, and more consumers.

To move grazing forward, the initiative will host a series of brainstorming sessions around the state, where people will come together to talk and listen, generate ideas, and form new partnerships. Upcoming sessions are set for Nov. 3 in Eau Claire and Nov. 8 in Oshkosh. Everyone is welcome to participate in the meetings, which will be held from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm. There is no charge.
