New Kayak and Paddleboard Rental Enters Algoma Scene

Explore Algoma – a new kayak and paddleboard rental business – invites the public to a ribbon cutting June 21, 12-1 pm, at Olson Park, N8108 Hwy 42.

Explore Algoma rents single and tandem kayaks and stand-up paddleboards at hourly and daily rates. With the kayak launch just steps away, Explore Algoma has everything you need to enjoy paddling the Ahnapee River.

Co-owners Don Chic and Katie Crossman operate out of a small, white shed that they rent from the City of Algoma.

“We love being a part of connecting people to nature,” they said. “It also is nice [that] we can see people at their happiest … It is easy to smile when everyone around you is happy.”
