New Location for Bark in the Park Fundraiser

For 2013, the longest-running event sponsored by the Door County Humane Society (DCHS) has a new site – Martin Park in Sturgeon Bay. The “Bark in the Park” fundraiser will be held Aug. 24, 9 am to 12:30 pm. In addition to the change of park, there are new services, lunch menu and vendors, but the most-loved elements remain.

Registration begins at 9 am; the cost is $25 for an individual, and $50 for a family. The fee includes a doggie goodie bag and lunch. A 2013 commemorative T-shirt is given to anyone raising at least $25 in pledges beyond the registration fee.

Micro-chipping will be available at a cost of $25. Master of Ceremonies is radio personality Chuck Lakefield, and music will be provided by Mike & Bob Starr of Coverleague.

Dogs must be older than four months old and rabies vaccinated; a collar tag or rabies certificate will suffice. An adult must accompany any walker younger than 18 years old.

For registration forms, stop by the Humane Society, located at 3475 County Road PD, or visit dooranimals.com.
