“A Few of Our Favorite Quilts” is the theme set by the Trillium Quilt Guild for its annual show at the Corner of the Past Historical Museum in Sister Bay. Over 30 handmade quilts representing a variety of techniques will be on display Saturday and Sunday, August 13 and 14 in the Old Anderson House.
The 14th annual show hosted by the Sister Bay Historical Society will feature an entirely new selection of quilts never shown at the museum before. Guild members will display traditional patchwork, red work, appliqué and scenic art quilts in a variety of sizes and materials.
The Trillium Quilt Guide meets at 10 am on the second and fourth Thursday of each month at the Sister Bay Firehouse, with one meeting devoted to sewing and the second to educational programs. Information on joining the group will be available at the Quilt Show.
Hours of the show are 9 am – 3 pm on Saturday and 11 am – 3 pm on Sunday. A donation of $3 is requested.
In addition to the quilts, visitors on Saturday morning can browse the Farmers’ Market for locally produced foods and enjoy a demonstration of Norwegian Rosemaling techniques presented by Laurie Paulman in the Koessl Barn.
The Corner of the Past is located on State Highway 57 at the intersection of Fieldcrest Road and Country Lane on the southeastern edge of Sister Bay. Ample parking is available, with access from Fieldcrest.
