New Tour Program Launches

The Wisconsin History Tour, a new outreach program from the Wisconsin Historical Society, launches in Door County at the Ephraim Historical Foundation Barn on July 2. The tour offers a sampling of the history and stories the Wisconsin Historical Society has been gathering since its founding in 1846 in a traveling exhibit and history-related programming. The handcrafted exhibit will be displayed in Ephraim, July 2 – 29.

History will come alive the third week of the tour, July 22 – 26, when authors, genealogists, architects and archivists will present special programs for all ages at Ephraim Village Hall, including a Taste Traditions tailgate dinner with sportscaster Jessie Garcia on July 24 at Ephraim Village Hall. The week-long history celebration ends at Old World Experience: Ephraim for a member and community appreciation day that begins with a talk for explorers of all ages led by Underwater Archeologist Tamara Thomsen and that features plenty of Old-World style activities including kite-making, old-time games, and more.

Wisconsin Historical Society Architectural Historian and author Jim Draeger and Wisconsin History Tour Coordinator Mary Jane Connor will be on hand to guide the special week-long celebration with staff of the Ephraim Historical Foundation.

Complete schedules are available at the Ephraim Historical Foundation and at wisconsinhistorytour.org.
