New Travelogue Film Season Kicks Off with Passport Fair in Sister Bay

The Kiwanis Club of Northern Door will host its first Travelogue program of the 2008-2009 season on Friday, September 26 at 7:30 pm at the First Baptist Church of Sister Bay. The travel film season opens with Beneath the Jungle…and Beyond, a travel adventure to Mesoamerica, presented by professional travel film producer and presenter, Dale Johnson.

The film explores the culture and achievements of the ancient Mayans who inhabited the region now mapped as southern Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, and Honduras, as well as its current state and modern culture.

As a service to the community’s travelers, the Kiwanis Club is also sponsoring a passport fair. Sister Bay Post Office personnel will be available beginning at 6:30 pm to assist anyone interested in applying for or renewing an existing passport. For expedited processing, anyone interested in applying for or renewing an existing passport that night may stop by the post office in advance of the show to pick up and complete an application or they may complete and print their application online at http://www.travel.state.gov.

Along with their completed applications, participants should also bring a certified copy of their birth certificate as well as existing passport, if they wish to renew it. There is a flat $75 passport application fee, payable to the U.S. Department of State, plus $45.45 for a new passport or $20.45 to renew an existing one.
