New Turquoise Jewelry at Artzy Studio

Artist Cynthia L. Koshalek has traveled the world over searching for the best gemstones to use in her fashion-forward jewelry. Turquoise is one of her favorite gemstones.

Koshalek has recently travelled to Arizona and Texas to find high-quality turquoise. At a recent Tucson gemstone show, she found a gemstone dealer in an open field with buckets of turquoise slabs. After handpicking a few slabs of turquoise, she had the gemstones custom cut and polished right there in the field by the gemstone cutter.

“These are the kind of stories I love to tell,” said Koshalek. “In gemstone finds, it doesn’t get any better than this.”

In Austin, Texas, Koshalek found beautiful vintage, Navajo turquoise. “Turquoise is a wonderful stone to work with. I enjoy every aspect of Turquoise stones. I design a new collection around them every year. This year, I am designing pendants of suspended stones from hammered sterling chain,” she said.

Koshalek’s jewelry is on display at Artzy Studio, 10329 Hwy 42, Ephraim. Hours are 10:30 am – 4:30 pm Thursday through Monday.
