New USDA Grant Supports Food Producers, Processors

A new U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) grant has opened for businesses that are involved in growing fresh fruits and vegetables or canning them, farmers markets, dried and dehydrated fruit, animal slaughtering, meat and poultry processing, fish and aquaculture, vineyards, coffee roasting and food/meat warehousing.

Funds can be used for workplace safety, market pivots, retrofitting facilities, transportation, worker housing and medical services. The minimum grant request is $1,500; the maximum is $20,000. The application period is open for 45 days.
