New Venues, New Activities, New Fun at Pumpkin Patch

It has long been one of the busiest – if not the busiest – weekends of the year in Door County, but the Pumpkin Patch Festival might be bigger than ever this weekend.

Anyone who has driven through Egg Harbor this summer has seen the new crowds and energy in the village, thanks in large part to an influx of restaurants, venues and park improvements. For Pumpkin Patch, that means more to do for families, foodies and revelers.

The Kress Pavilion will be home to a carnival of free kids’ activities, including cornhole, pumpkin bowling and an inflatable obstacle course.

“We’re really trying to incorporate some fun, free activities for kids and families,” said Alyssa Rasmussen, Egg Harbor Business Association (EHBA) marketing coordinator.

On the other end of the village, One Barrel Brewing Company, Hatch Distilling Co. and Fireside will draw people to the south end of town with live music, food booths and drinks. One Barrel will host the band Unity Saturday at 6 pm, and football fans will want to check out Fireside’s new brewpub.

Of course, all the Pumpkin Patch favorites will be back. Hear Big Mouth and the Modern Day Drifters play in Harbor View Park; participate in a Chinese raffle that will include prizes from local businesses; and partake of food, crafts and shopping throughout the village.

The scarecrow contest will return as well. Vote for your favorite on the EHBA Facebook page.
