New Water-based Exhibit at Miller Art Museum

The Miller Art Museum announces the upcoming exhibition Our Water Stories: A Celebration of Door County’s Relationship to Water. The exhibition is in collaboration with the Celebrate Water Door County initiative of Healthy Water Door County, a fund of the Door Community Foundation, Inc.

Our Water Stories celebrates and explores our most precious and vital resource: water. The exhibit serves as a platform for the Door County community to join together and engage in meaningful dialogue as it pertains to local water-based issues.

“This exhibition seeks to explore the impact water has on artistic explorations of our surroundings,” said Elizabeth Shoshany Anderson, Curator of Exhibitions and Collections, “as well as the importance of water as a source of artistic inspiration.”

The works range from representational to abstract works related to water or experiences involving water. Additionally, a selection from the Miller Art Museum permanent collection, Inspired by Water: Highlights from the Collection is on display concurrently in the Ruth Morton Miller Mezzanine Gallery.

The exhibit is on display June 2 through July 17. An opening reception will be held at the gallery on June 2, 5-6:30 pm.

The museum is located at 107 S. 4th Avenue, Sturgeon Bay. Hours are 10 am – 8 pm Monday and 10 am – 5 pm Tuesday through Saturday. For more information call 920.746.0707 or visit
