New Work from Bazyli at Linden Gallery

Bazyli Studio will have a trunk show at Linden Gallery in Ellison Bay, Oct. 7 & 8, 10 am – 5 pm.

Skye and Peter Ciesla of Baileys Harbor are the owners and resident artists of Bazyli Studio. They have worked with Brian and Jeanee Linden since 2006, developing an Asian-inspired collection of handcrafted jewelry that has taken many forms. This October show will feature a new series, combining linen and silk with silver findings from Southwest China, as well as Bazyli Studio’s signature bead embroidery work. This new fiber series showcases Peter’s fiber work and is the perfect background for these treasures from Yunnan Province in China, home of the award-winning Linden Centre hotels.

“It is interesting to observe how my interests in fiber, found objects and beadwork are finally merging together and starting to blossom into one cohesive body of work,” said Peter.

Each piece starts with a free form, using pieces of silk and linen bases embellished with tribal silver findings from the Miao ethnic people and finished with elements which include Bazyli’s signature embroidered style.

For more information, call 920.854.2487 or visit the gallery at Highway 42 and Mink River Road in Ellison Bay. Hours are 10 am to 5 pm daily, but closed on Tuesdays.
