New Works, Familiar Names at Cappaert

Cappaert Contemporary Gallery, now open for its eighth season, is welcoming many new artists who work in encaustic, ceramics, jewelry, painting and mixed media. The gallery has a curated selection of 40 artists working in a contemporary genre, yet is infused with a midwest feel.

Exciting new works have arrived from Anna Cline who hand-stitches on vintage Door County postcards to give them a Van Gogh look. Paula Swaydan Grebel paints inviting interiors in oil, Joanne Kirkland ceramics are functional and much more.

The gallery also represents resident artist Ginnie Cappaert, working in oil and cold wax. Her abstracted visions of the Door County skies and wild places continue to inspire a new series each year. Cappaert also shows at Edgewood Orchard Galleries in Fish Creek.

Cappaert Contemporary Gallery (cappaertcontemporary.com), is open daily, 10 am – 5 pm, through Oct. 31.
