newARTS Hosts Workshop for Area Artists

Both national and state agencies have called attention to the importance of the arts, and the development of creative industries in recovering from the economic downturn. With slow improvements noted across many markets, newARTS is taking note and is ready to assist area artists in joining in this new, 21st century economy.

The Northeastern Wisconsin Arts Council is teaming up with Arketype, Inc., NWTC Artisan Center and The Docking Station to offer a marketing workshop for area artists on April 14 from 9 am – 12 pm, with a networking luncheon to follow. This workshop, Art is an Attitude: Marketing Like You Mean It will be held in the Bellin Building, 130 E. Walnut Street, Green Bay.

Artists are encouraged to bring samples of their artwork, marketing materials and to stay after the formal workshop for a light lunch and a chance to network with fellow artists and presenters. The cost of the workshop will be $35, including lunch. Members of newARTS and students can participate for $30. The registration deadline is April 4. With only 50 spaces available, early registration is encouraged. Participation registered on the day of the workshop, if seats are available, will be $40.

newARTS encourages anyone interested (whether they are visual, literary or performing artists) to visit http://www.newartscouncil.org, or call Missie Olm 920.435.2787 for more information.
