Newport State Park of Door County Celebrates Earth Day

The public is welcome to join the Newport Wilderness Society volunteers and park personnel on Thursday, April 21 to help prepare trails and campsites for spring hiking, biking and camping. Work parties will be scheduled from 9 am – 12 pm and 1 – 4 pm. Lunch will be provided. To register, call 920.854.2500.

To celebrate Earth Day at Newport State Park, artists, photographers and poets of all ages and abilities are welcome to come to the park to paint, take photos or write poems about the park on Saturday, April 23 between 10:30 am – 4:30 pm.

Following the Art in the Park event, poets will be given the opportunity to read their poems at the shelter off of Lot 3 from 4:30 – 5 pm. Artists and photographers are encouraged to display their creations to the public as well.

Katie Dahl will lead an Earth Day sing-along around a bonfire near the shelter from 5 – 6 pm.
