WHAT HAPPENED

The Door County Maritime Museum (DCMM) has received a $1 million donation from the George Kress Foundation for its long-planned Maritime Tower.

“We are very appreciative of this generous support from the George Kress Foundation,” said DCMM Executive Director Kevin Osgood. “We are so pleased they decided to join with the almost 200 other local families and institutions that have made generous donations to this ambitious project. We are now closer than ever to being able to begin construction.”

The donation puts the campaign at $4.3 million toward its $5.5 million goal. The 10-story Maritime Lighthouse Tower will offer creative, interactive educational displays that highlight maritime history, people and industries.
