  • Community Notes for October 16 – 30

    • The sculpture, “Mary Full of Grace,” created by Maureen McGrath of Baileys Harbor, was donated to the Wellness Center of Door County. The sculpture is now displayed in the waiting room of the center, which offers all-option pregnancy counseling, allowing women to make the choice that is best for their circumstances at the time.

    • The Coyote Roadhouse in Baileys Harbor began going smoke-free for daytime and dinner hours Oct. 19. Smoking will be permitted only at night after the kitchen closes.

  • Taking Cycling to a New Level

    Nor Door Sport and Cyclery in Fish Creek is gearing up for another winter of indoor cycling. With expanded options and a brand new studio space, instructors Fred Bexell and Linda Menar will provide class options for all types of cycling enthusiasts.

    • The Peninsula Music Festival (PMF) is pleased to announce the hiring of Laura Ashley as Assistant Director. She replaces Mary Bell who held the position for six years.

  • City Sticks to Two-Way Traffic on Third Avenue

    The Sturgeon Bay City Council voted 6-1 Tuesday night to keep Third Avenue traffic flowing in two directions – at least for the winter. Alderman Thad Birmingham was the lone dissenting vote.

  • Oct. 2 – 9

    • The Family Centers of Door County, Inc. recently announced Laura Findlay Hagen as a new addition to their team of coordinators. Findlay Hagen has been hired to manage Family Centers’ programs for the Washington Island community.

  • Half Marathon Promotes at Fox Cities Marathon

    Last weekend, Door County Half Marathon co-founder Dave Eliot connected with more than 500 runners at the Community First Fox Cities Marathon. The Door County Half Marathon booth featured information on the Half Marathon and general Door County information, as well videos about the Half Marathon and the course in scenic Peninsula State Park.
