    Harbor Ridge Winery recently won a gold medal at the Tasters Guild International Competition for its Zinfandel, a rich red wine aged in oak barrels for 16 months.

  • One-On-One Business Counseling Sessions Offered on June 4

    The Door County Economic Development Corporation and the UW-Green Bay Small Business Development Center will offer free, one-on-one business counseling sessions on June 4, 8:30 am to 5 pm, for any new or existing business owners in Door County.

    New in 2015, Turtle Ridge is offering an outdoor dimension to the gallery offerings of handmade leather bags and fiber art. The Garden Shop at Turtle Ridge is an opportunity for them to share a love of plants, nature and the outdoor environment.

    The Door County Economic Development Corporation and the Door County Visitor Bureau are bringing representatives from Constant Contact back to Door County for essential training for local businesses on cost-effective tools that can help business owners build and maintain strong relationships with customers through email and social media marketing.

  • Become Work Certified at Job Center

    The Door County Job Center will hold its next Work Certified Session from June 10 – 30, 9 am – 4 pm. Prior to attending each participant will need to complete TABE testing to ensure they are at a compatible skill level for being successful in the program.

  • BodyWorks Announces Yoga Offerings

    BodyWorks of Door County will offer Outdoor Yoga Classes on the waterfront in Ephraim and Sister Bay again this year, beginning May 23. To welcome students back, BodyWorks will host an open house at all classes running June 1-13.

    The lethal bat disease known as white-nose syndrome (WNS) has been found in Door County. The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources just released the results of its winter surveillance of 75 bat hibernating sites throughout the state.

    The Ephraim Business Council has been awarded a Joint Effort Marketing Grant from the Wisconsin Department of Tourism for its inaugural Ephraim Hill Climb & Concours d’Elegance, worth up to $15,540.

  • New Quilt Designs at JCC

    New Amish quilt designs are now at Jacksonport Craft Cottage Gifts. Owners Sue and Joe Jarosh feature more than 100 new Amish quilts. They recently returned from their six-state tour to get new quilts for their 31st season.

  • Report Prevented Planting and Failed Acres

    Tim Siehr, executive director of Kewaunee County and Door County USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA), reminds producers to report prevented planting and failed acres in order to establish or retain FSA program eligibility.

  • Organic Certification Assistance is Available

    The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) announced that approximately $11.9 million in organic certification assistance is available through state departments of agriculture to make organic certification more affordable for organic producers and handlers across the country.
