Department of Natural Resources Secretary Cathy Stepp and other dignitaries dedicated Peninsula State Park Golf Course’s new short course on Aug. 2. The short course is a six-hole course designed to introduce youth, people with disabilities and adults with no experience to the sport of golf.

One of the best qualities in the game of golf is that it can be produced in so many varying fashions. When a foursome can include any grouping of teenagers, fathers, grandfathers, wives, great-grandmothers, daughters, etc.

It rules me whenever it peeks its head. When I see pavement, I see an opportunity for pick-up hoops. To me, an unused field looks more like the perfect place for lawn darts or ultimate Frisbee.
