NEWWIS Now Offering Hotspot Internet

Getting high-speed wireless in many parts of the peninsula is now easier than ever. DoorFi hotspots from Northeast Wisconsin Wireless Internet Service (NEWWIS) are now available in certain areas around Door County.

For a $39 activation charge and $22 per month, NEWWIS can give you access to DoorFi hotspots wherever you can get a DoorFi signal. For example, while you can’t get Charter service in downtown Baileys Harbor, you can catch the DoorFi high-speed signal in most of the town’s downtown area. Additional accounts are $10 each.

The service requires no contract or long-term commitment, a perfect plan for seasonal residents or those on extended vacations.

To view maps of where DoorFi hotspots area available visit http://maps.doorfi.com. The typical range from a transmitter is 500 – 1,000 feet. If you can see a DoorFi access point when you open your computer, call 920.868.9400 to set up service. Once you’re set up, you can log in to DoorFi anytime you can see a signal. DoorFi hotspots are not available everywhere on the peninsula, so please call only if you can see a DoorFi signal.
