NexGen Door County ypAward Winners

NexGen Door County, the county’s young professionals network, hosted its second annual ypAwards April 12 at Horseshoe Bay Golf Club to honor the county’s best and brightest young persons. Nominations were sought in two categories:  “Rising Star” for those ages 30 and younger and “Shining Star” for those 31- to 40-years old. Qualifications for both categories focused on career advancement, community involvement and commitment to the future of Door County.

This year’s Rising Star winner is Tenley Koehler, family living educator with the Door County University of Wisconsin – Extension. Other Rising Star nominees were Molly Brauer of Associated Bank, Candis Dart of the Door County Partnership for Children and Families, Jake Erickson of the ADRC of Door County, Marissa Goetz of Nicolet Bank, Katy Lau of Nicolet Bank, and Natalie Leroy of the Boys & Girls Club of Door County.

Bridgett Starr, manager of the Sister Bay branch of Nicolet Bank, won the Shining Star award. This category placed significant emphasis on leadership and peer mentorship. Other Shining Star nominees were Katie Dahl of Katie Dahl Music, Holly Feldman of Northern Sky Theater, Derek Grenfell of Elite Spine & Sport and CrossFit Armati, John Grochowski of the Ephraim Historical Foundation, Ryan Heise of the Village of Egg Harbor, and Jess Holland of the ADRC of Door County and Deathfolk.
