Next Memory Café at Sturgeon Bay United Methodist is April 4

The Sturgeon Bay United Methodist Church is celebrating Parkinson Disease Awareness month at their meeting on April 7, 12:30 – 2 pm. The support group is celebrating Parkinson Disease Awareness Month with a speaker from the Parkinson Advocacy Program. Kathy Degrave will travel here from Michigan to talk about how to advocate for oneself when a person has Parkinson Disease. Julia LaViolette from Dancin’ on the Door will lead a dance class on April 6, 12:30 – 1:15 pm, for people with Parkinson Disease or anyone just interested in dancing from a chair or standing. The dance classes will be held twice a month at the church with a charge of $9/couple. Singles welcome too. The church is located at 836 Michigan St. Anyone who is interested in Parkinson Disease is welcome to come to either event.

Also, the Sturgeon Bay United Methodist Church will hold another Memory Café on April 4, 2 – 3:30 pm. Start preparing for spring by building a bird feeder with Elroy Rasmussen. The Memory Café is a time for people with early memory loss and their caregivers/friends to get together and just have a good time while sharing with each other over a cup of coffee.
