Niagara Escarpment Lecture and Hike

The Greater Escarpment Organization of Door County will host Charles Shabica for a lecture on “A Brief History of the Niagara Escarpment: The Last 450 Million Years” on July 17 at the NWTC Sister Bay campus. An educational hike at the Porte des Morts stairway will follow the lecture. The program is limited to 20 participants. Register online at geo-dc.org.

Shabica is president of Shabica & Associates Coastal Scientists and Engineers and a professor emeritus of earth science at Northeastern Illinois University. He specializes in restoring and managing coastal bluffs, beaches and wetlands.
