Nickols and Leberman Featured at DCAL Gallery

“Chambers Island Lighthouse” by Marcia Nickols.

From July 27 – August 5, the Door County Art League (DCAL) Gallery in Fish Creek will feature the artwork of Marcia Nickols and Suzanne Leberman.

Nickols works mainly with water-based oils and watercolor collages to create impressionist works emphasizing color and light to capture the mood within a scene. Water scenes, people, boats, and scenic views of Door County comprise her work.

An art educator for 36 years, Nickols moved to Door County to learn from master artists.

Leberman became intrigued with making glass beads while watching a demonstration over 20 years ago at a bead show. That experience led to her working with glass fusing, glass blowing, stained glass and mosaics. Lark Publications chose one of her favorite fused glass pendants for publication in One Thousand Glass Beads.

The DCAL Gallery is in the rear courtyard of the Top of the Hill Shops, located at Highway 42 and County F, Fish Creek. Hours for this season are 11 am – 5 pm daily and 11 am – 3 pm Sunday. The gallery is closed on Wednesday. For more information call 920.868.2288 or visit
