Business owners are invited to a free cybersecurity seminar, sponsored by Nicolet Bank, Nov. 9. There are two locations and times to choose from: 8:30 – 10 am at Barringer’s Restaurant, Fish Creek; or 12 – 1:30 pm at Stone Harbor Resort, Sturgeon Bay.
Cyber intrusions are a serious and growing problem for all businesses. Cyber crime presents itself in many different forms and impacts each business uniquely. Join this seminar to learn about cyber crime and corporate account takeover and how both can negatively impact your business without a focus on cybersecurity.
The featured speaker is Officer Chad K. Mielke of the Sturgeon Bay Police Department. Mielke is a patrol officer, digital forensic investigator for the Sturgeon Bay Police Department, Door County Sheriff’s Department and Kewaunee County Sheriff’s Department, and a member of the Door County Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. Officer Mielke has analyzed hundreds of terabytes of forensic evidence. He instructs Basic Data Recovery and Computer Crime Investigations at Fox Valley Technical College in Appleton, and has been running his own computer repair, data recovery, and networking business in Door County since 2007.
