Winter Warmer Release, Holiday Fests & More Weekend Plans

‘Tis the season to be jolly! Why not amp up your Christmas spirit with some winery open houses, a couple local festivals and a wonderful night sky hike?

Friday, December 2

Holiday Open Houses

Kick off your first December weekend with a sampling of local wineries! Parallel 44 Winery in Kewaunee is decked out for the holidays and invites you to stop by for wine, cheese and chocolate. At Door 44 Winery, you are invited to build your own custom gift boxes, taste some wine and enjoy holiday music. 10 am – 5 pm.

Saturday, December 3

Christmas In the Village

Head over to the quaint village of Ephraim for its annual Christmas In the Village, featuring fun family crafts, singalongs and carols, sweets sale, Santa, horse-drawn wagon rides and more.

Harbor Holidays

Join Baileys Harbor for a great community event including a Christmas parade, arts & crafts and a tree lighting ceremony!

Winter Warmer Release

Why not head south to warm up a bit with Ahnapee Brewery’s Winter Warmer Bottle Release? The last bottle release of 2016 is the Scotch Ale Winter Warmer that’s been cellared for nearly a year. 12 pm.

Santa on the Tugboat

Join Santa onboard the historic tugboat John Purves at the Door County Maritime Museum to share your Christmas wishes. 10 am – 1pm.

Night Sky Hike

A hike at The Ridges is nice anytime, but a night walk can be amazing. On this night, the moon will be visible by only a sliver in the sky, creating spectacular conditions for viewing objects in the sky. Hikers will stop at key vantage points to enjoy celestial wonders. Round out the evening with a campfire and hot chocolate back at Kaye and Marshall cabins. 6:30 pm.

Sunday, December 4

Red and White Quilts

Celebrate the creativity of the Trillium Quilt Guild during the opening reception for their December quilt show at UU Gallery in Ephraim. Although quilters were limited to two colors, they had the freedom to create their own designs in any size or shape. 12 pm.
