“No One Fights Alone,” the Joan Lautenbach Doubek benefit, will be held Nov. 9 at The Draft Haus in Sturgeon Bay.

A lifelong Door County resident, Lautenbach Doubek dealt with terminal illness with grace and courage. She was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2010 and was in remission for two years when the cancer returned. The loving care of her longtime partner Randy Brusewitz (Randy Bruce); her two college-aged daughters, Megan and Abby; her parents and siblings supported her through her battle with cancer. Lautenbach Doubek passed away on Sept. 6.

Family and friends of the family truly believe “No One Fights Alone” and have organized a benefit to assist her children in taking care of medical expenses. The benefit includes silent, Chinese and live auctions as well as a 50/50 raffle and live music featuring Randy Bruce & Friends.

There’s no cover charge, though donations are welcome. Monetary donations may also be sent directly to the Joan Lautenbach Doubek Benefit Fund c/o Baylake Bank, 34 W. Maple St., Sturgeon Bay. For more information call Denise Plassmeyer at 920.493.8741 or Michelle LeCloux at 920.495.0346.
