No Summer Break for School Construction

Better security for students and staff at Sturgeon Bay High School is just one part of the construction work going on this summer around the Sturgeon Bay school district. Although a four-classroom addition at Sawyer Elementary School could be carried out during the academic year without disrupting classes, improvements to the high school, middle school and district office could not. With demolition work audible from his office, Superintendent Dan Tjernagel noted that residents will notice a lot of construction workers around because about $10 million worth of the $16.8 million in work that voters approved in April 2020 will be completed during this summer break.
