Door County – Supervisor Laura Vlies Wotachek’s resignation, effective June 17, has created a vacancy on the Door County Board.
Wotachek’s District 9 encompasses portions of the City of Sturgeon Bay’s east and west sides, Wards 5-6 and 22-24.
Those wishing to be considered for appointment to the vacant seat must submit a letter of interest to county board Chair David Lienau, c/o County Administrator, 421 Nebraska St., Sturgeon Bay, WI 54235, or email it to [email protected]. Letters of interest must be received by 12 pm on Wednesday, July 14.
Following a vetting process, Lienau will nominate a person to fill the vacancy. The nomination is then subject to confirmation by the county board. The successful nominee will serve out the remainder of Wotacheck’s term, which will expire April 18, 2022.
