Nor-Door Chili Run 2011

Mmmmmmmmmm, I smell cumin! Oooooooh, and beef, and beans, and onions, and…can it be? Yes, it is time for yet another chili run!

What is a chili run? Oh, sweet innocent child, listen to Grandpa Sicnarf whilst I share with you the legend and lore of a great time-honored test of Nor-Door tough-itude!

In the great and mighty years of ’06, ’07, and ’08, we hardened and mighty winter residents of the Northern Door would suit up in winter armor and brazenly promenade about the county in a vaporous and rambling chili-bus, invading chili venue after chili venue, conquering all chili brought before us with loud belchy slurps! Like ravenous Vikings, we plundered all the chili we could and took no prisoners! We do all this on one sacred afternoon, the final afternoon before a king is crowned, master conqueror of all the NFL. Some might call it Super Bowl Sunday. We gladiators of the meat and bean know this day by its rightful moniker, Chili Run Sunday!

If you think you have the guts, the stamina, the bravery, and the tough-itude to join our glorious crusade, you may meet us at the focal point of all things mighty, the Piggly Wiggly parking lot around 11:45 am on Sunday, Feb. 6. The Chili Bus embarks out into the county at exactly 12 noon! We will attack strategically chosen chili vendors with snarling vigor! A meager $5 donation to the bus master will help him fill the tank, and guarantee you a safe and royal chariot into the battlefield! A chili at every stop! Be eligible for prizes! Partake in the chili chanting! Sing along with our chili carols! Get cheered on by our gorgeous chili cheerleaders!

Are you a true Packer fan – I mean a true Packer fan? Will you add cheese glorious cheese to your chili at every stop? Packer armor will be greatly celebrated! Packer spirit in the form of gluttonous chili consumption will be meticulously encouraged! Could finishing a bowl of chili at every stop really ensure a Packer Super Bowl victory? Find out, run for chili at the Nor-Door Chili Run 2011. This year’s ultimate Chili-Run trophy will be called the Lombardi Spoon. Got tough-itude?
