North Shore Bank Offers Free Coin Counting and Exchange

There’s a shortage of coins circulating nationwide, which is especially affecting retailers who accept and give change in cash and must alter their business operations. In response, North Shore Bank (NSB) is offering community members free coin counting and will exchange the coins for paper dollars.

According to the bank, a reduction in coin production and circulation related to the pandemic is resulting in local banks receiving only a limited number of coin rolls to serve customers. 

Through July, community members and bank customers may have their coins counted and exchanged at any NSB branch. No appointment is necessary. This is not a complimentary service for commercial businesses, but they will benefit from the replenishment of coins in circulation.
