Northern Door Rotary Donate ‘Happy Dollars’ to HELP of Door County

Northern Door Rotarians donated $1,405 to HELP of Door County at their regular Wednesday morning meeting earlier this month. HELP of Door County serves people throughout Door County who are dealing with issues related to domestic abuse and violence, through crisis intervention, education and advocacy. “Rotarians believe in service over self. One way we can support local organizations that share that value is to donate the money collected at weekly meetings through Happy Dollars,” said club president Mary Horton. “Rotarians are encouraged to make announcements about things that make them happy – and for the privilege of sharing their happy news, they throw $1 to $5, or more, into the Happy Dollar basket,” she explained.

Each quarter a different local charity is awarded Happy Dollars.

Northern Door Rotary meets the first three Wednesday mornings at 8 am at the Ridges Sanctuary in the Cook Fuller Nature Center. The last meeting of the month finds the club at a mixer.
