Northern Sky Theater creates original musicals and plays and now has more than 65 in its canon. Its 2020 outdoor season will include three musical comedies playing in rotating repertory June 10 – Aug. 29 at the amphitheater in Peninsula State Park. It will also premiere a new musical this summer and offer two fan favorites. Tickets will go on sale March 2.
The world premiere of Love Stings, by Richard Castle and Matthew Levine, will feature veteran company members Corrie Beula Kovacs, Alex Campea, Doug Clemons, Lachrisa Grandberry, Molly Rhode and Isaiah Spetz. It will run Mondays at 8:30 pm, Wednesdays at 8 pm, Thursdays at 6 pm and Saturdays at 8 pm.
Fishing for the Moon, by Fred Alley and James Kaplan, will feature veteran company members Corrie Beula Kovacs, Alex Campea, Doug Clemons, Lachrisa Grandberry and Isaiah Spetz. It will play Tuesdays and Fridays at 8 pm.
Belgians in Heaven, by Doc Heide, Lee Becker and James Kaplan, will feature several returning cast members from the 2012 production – Doc Heide, Jeff Herbst, Doug Mancheski and Molly Rhode – and welcome Corrie Beula Kovacs and Chase Stoeger. It will run Mondays at 6 pm and Thursdays at 8:30 pm.
Outdoor general-admission tickets are $22 per adult, $11 per student, and $7 for children 12 and younger. Reserved seats are $8 more per ticket. No park sticker is required to attend the outdoor performances.
Four summer shows will also be presented in Northern Sky’s indoor Gould Theater June 16 – Sept. 5; and two additional shows will run in the Gould Theater Sept. 11 – Oct. 31.
Dad’s Season Tickets, by Matt Zembrowski, will feature the entire returning cast of the sell-out 2019 fall hit: Anna Cline, Kelly Doherty, Ray Jivoff, Doug Mancheski, Jamie Mercado and Chase Stoeger. It will open June 23 and play Tuesdays and Fridays at 7 pm, and Wednesdays and Saturdays at 2 pm. Additional performances have been added for the week of Aug. 31 – Sept. 5.
Song of the Inland Seas, created by Dave Peterson, will feature Katie Dahl, Doc Heide and Craig Konowalski in a 50th-anniversary presentation with a six-performance run, June 16-27.
The Mountains Call My Name, by Doc Heide, will feature the talents of Jeff Herbst, musicians Doc Heide and Andrew Crowe, and performers Anna Cline and Jamie Mercado. It will open July 8 and run Wednesdays and Saturdays at 7 pm through Aug. 15.
SkyWriting!, by Ray Jivoff and Brett Ryback, is a new collaboration between Northern Sky and Write On, Door County that will feature the writing of local students presented by Northern Sky company members Anna Cline, Andrew Crowe, Kelly Doherty, Jamie Mercado and Chase Stoeger. It will open July 2 and play Thursdays at 5 pm through Aug. 27.
Naked Radio, by Paul Libman and Dave Hudson, is back by popular demand, featuring two of the original cast members, Molly Rhode and Chase Stoeger. Newcomer Andrew Crowe will round out the cast of three. It will open Sept. 11 and run Monday through Saturday at 7 pm, with 2 pm matinees on Wednesdays and Saturdays through Oct. 31.
And If Elected, created by Dave Peterson, Jeff Herbst and Fred Alley, will feature the returning cast of Jake Endres, Jeff Herbst and Karen Mal. It will open Oct. 9 and run Monday – Friday at various times through Oct. 29.
