Northern Sky Offers First Winter Season

Northern Sky Theater will offer its first winter season: eight virtual offerings – roughly two shows per month between now and April – that will include both live concerts and archived material.

The theater company will begin with The New Year with Northern Sky on Dec. 31, a concert of original material performed and filmed by Northern Sky writers and singers across the country. On Jan. 23, multi-instrumental string wizard Eric Lewis will perform live in concert from Memphis.

Claudia Russell and Bruce Kaplan will perform live from the San Francisco Bay area on Feb. 6; and on Feb. 14, Northern Sky will premiere Love: It’s Not Just for Lumberjacks: an archival compilation of video footage from Northern Sky shows about love and courtship gone wrong and right.

On March 6, the singing and stringing duo Karen Mal and Will Taylor will be in concert live from their home in Austin, and Northern Sky will premiere a full video archive of a 1993 performance of Malarkey! – a collection of Irish stories, songs and humor – on March 17.

Only the Silly Songs: An April Fool’s Day Festival of Fun will premiere April 1 and feature archival videos of some of the troupe’s guffaw-inducing, kid-enchanting onstage antics. Then company co-founder Doc Heide will perform live in concert from Baileys Harbor on April 17.

Northern Sky will also resume The Jeff & Katie Show on Facebook on Jan. 3 and 31, Feb. 28 and March 28.

All winter-season shows will be offered on a pay-what-you-choose tiered-pricing model. Tickets are on sale at northernskytheater.com.
