Northern Sky Receives Grant to Produce New Musical Theater

Northern Sky Theater has received a matching grant of $11,500 from the Wisconsin Arts Board. This grant supports Northern Sky’s commitment to writing and developing new works of musical theater tailored for the company’s unique multi-generational audiences.

“With the support of the Wisconsin Arts Board, this summer Northern Sky will add two new musicals to our canon of over 50 world premieres,” said Managing Director Dave Maier. “Creating new works for our audiences and nurturing writers, composers, and performers is the lifeblood of our work.”

Northern Sky Theater also announces the addition of Heidi Ling to their Board of Directors.

A licensed attorney and graduate of Lawrence University and UW Law School, Ling has been involved in nonprofit leadership for more than 15 years. All three generations of her family have enjoyed Northern Sky shows over the years while camping in Peninsula State Park.

“As a child camping with my parents and brother in Peninsula Park, we would hike over to the show ‘in the woods’ and sing snippets from the show on the way back to the campsite,” said Heidi. “That family tradition started in 1970 and continues with my husband and three kids to the present day.”

Tickets go on sale April 2 and May 1 in the Northern Sky box office at the Green Gables shops in north Ephraim. They are also available at  NorthernSkyTheater.com or by calling 920.854.6117.
