Northern Sky Theater Tickets Go On Sale April 1

Northern Sky Theater announces tickets go on sale for the 2016 summer season on April 1.

This season includes four musical comedies playing in rotating repertory at their outdoor amphitheater in Peninsula State Park. This year the schedule changes to include two-performance nights on Mondays and Thursdays rather than Wednesdays and Saturdays as in past years.

“We think this change in our weekly line up will serve our audiences well,” stated Managing Director, Dave Maier. “Mondays are typically ‘dark’ nights at most theaters, so we thought we’d capitalize on that opportunity to add a performance on one of Northern Sky’s busiest nights.” This adjustment will also help relieve parking issues in Peninsula State Park on Saturdays in the summer.

This year’s world premiere, Doctor! Doctor!, in which a retiring small town physician recruits his young big city nephew to take over his practice, pays tribute to the nostalgic nature of life in Door County where residents reluctantly but humorously adapt to change. The cast will features Doug Mancheski, Fred ‘Doc’ Heide, Chase Stoeger, Eva Nimmer, Bill Theisen, Rhonda Rae Busch, Kelly Doherty and Rachael Zientek. Doctor! Doctor! plays Mondays at 6 pm, Wednesdays at 8 pm, and Fridays at 8 pm.

When Butter Churns to Gold and No Bones About It will both return for a consecutive season, unprecedented in the company’s 25-year history.

No Bones About It is set in the world of competitive barbecue and is the sixth offering from the Richard Rogers award-winning writing team of Dave Hudson and Paul Libman. The same all-star cast will return from last year. This show will play Mondays and Thursdays at 8:30 pm.

When Butter Churns to Gold, written by Peter Welkin, Ron Barnett, and Randi Wolfe, allows for plenty of audience interaction and is performed in a very tongue-in-cheek style. Joining last year’s cast is Milwaukee actor Alex Campea as The Hero, Jack Strongfellow. When Butter Churns to Gold plays on Tuesdays at 8 pm.

Lumberjacks in Love, by Fred Alley and James Kaplan, celebrates its 20th Anniversary in 2016 with a return to the woods after a crowd-pleasing fall run at the Door Community Auditorium. The cast will be almost the same as the 2015 fall run with the exception of Fred ‘Doc’ Heide returning to his role as Muskrat. Lumberjacks in Love plays Thursdays at 6 pm and Saturdays at 8 pm.

Northern Sky’s Summer Season runs from June 15 – Aug. 27 at the Peninsula State Park Amphitheater in Fish Creek. General admission tickets are $22 for adults, $11 for students, and $6 for children 12 and under. Reserved seats are $7 more per ticket. For tickets, stop by the box office at the Green Gables shops in north Ephraim, call 920.854.6117 or visit NorthernSkyTheater.com.
