Northwoods Nightcap, the critically-acclaimed late-night variety show from American Folklore Theatre, will premiere its third season on Friday, July 18 at 10 pm at the Peninsula State Park amphitheatre.
Hosted by Doc Heide and Lee Becker, the show will again feature a lively mixture of humor, vocal talent, and instrumental virtuosity. Guests scheduled at press time include Eric Lewis and Tommy Burroughs (both winners of the Best String Player Award from the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences), AFT veteran and recording artist Chris Irwin, and Monica Heuser (winner of the Twin Cities’ prestigious Ivey Award). Also onstage will be Craig Konowalski and Gerald Pelrine, both long-time members of AFT’s predecessor troupe, the Heritage Ensemble.
Humorous commercials for the show’s sponsors are a Nightcap standard. In addition, the show includes the Pickled Joke of the Week, a visit from a favorite AFT character and the premiere of a new Doc Heide song.
This event’s sponsor will be Northern Door Communications. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children, available at the theatre on the night of the show only. A park sticker is not required. For more information call 920.854.6117.
