Norwegian Pianist Performs at UU Fellowship

The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Door County is pleased to present a program on music and spirituality featuring Norwegian pianist Knut Erik Jensen on Nov. 17 at 3:30 pm. The 90-minute program, which includes works by E. Grieg, G. Tveitt, and A. Scriabin, will be followed by a complimentary reception.

Jensen has performed over 100 solo concerts featuring Norwegian and international music in North America since 2007. He has recorded two CDs of Norwegian piano music, Edvard Grieg – Anniversary Collection and Nordic Elegance. Jensen’s rich musical background has provided him versatility in many different genres and instruments from organ, classical accordion, piano, and saxophone to rock, jazz, klezmer, and gypsy orchestra.

Jensen currently works as an accompanist and vocal coach and is the Music Director of the International Opera Institute of California (IOI). Jensen’s current program on music and spirituality is performed in freethinking communities and Unitarian churches around the country, and will be followed by a solo tour in China in 2014-15. He also tours with his multi-instrument concept “The Knut Experience.”

Admission is $10 at the door.

This performance is part of the UU Fellowship’s Emerson Series, created to bring low-cost and top-notch cultural programs to the Northern Door community.
