Notes from the Grove

Welcome to the Notes from the Grove providing Liberty Grove residents and visitors tidbits of information about goings on in Town Government.

Quick reminders:  During Town Hall remodeling and new construction the Town Offices are in their temporary location at the North Fire Station. Town and Committee meetings are being held at the Ellison Bay Community Center. Please check the calendar on the Town Web Site for times and possible location changes.

• The September meetings of the Town Board will be Wednesday, September 9 and Wednesday, September 23. All are welcome and encouraged to attend the meetings when possible.

• The “Listening Session” held on Monday, August 17 had a turn out of over 50 people. The Board thanks all those who came to speak, listen and participate and appreciates Janet’s and Bud’s efforts to organization the event. The Board was most appreciative of the comments and suggestions. During the Board of Revue on Wednesday, when time allowed, we discussed the input and will be placing suggestions on both Committee Agendas and Board Agendas. The audience encouraged the Board to continue with these sessions in the future.

• The Highway Committee has made a recommendation to reconfigure the intersection at Highway 42 and Waters End Road. The intersection has become a safety concern. The Board will consider the hiring of an engineer to reconfigure the intersection.

• The Utilities Committee received the DNR Sanitary Survey Report of the Water Supply serving the Town and Village of Sister Bay. They are suggesting the adoption of a well head ordinance and a cross connection control ordinance.

• There will be two driveways to access the Town Hall once the construction is complete. The North entrance will be marked for trucks only while the south entrance will be the primary entrance for residents and visitors. Construction is on schedule to date. As Bud continues to take photos of the progress Janet is busy loading them on to the Web site.

• The new Web site is under review by the staff and the IT Committee, and the site will likely go live in a few weeks.
