Novella Collection Set in Door County on Bookshelves

After years of family vacations and romantic getaways with their husbands, two Wisconsin authors – Becky Melby from Burlington and Cynthia Ruchti from the Marshfield area – have turned their infatuation with apple orchards, rugged shorelines, spectacular sunsets, and unique gifts shops and art galleries into romantic comedy.

A Door County Christmas is a novella collection published by Barbour Publishing, well known for its Christmas novella series called Romancing America. A Door County Christmas is set in the villages and charm of the Door County peninsula.

“When the idea came to collaborate on a collection of novellas,” notes Melby, “both Cynthia and I knew Door County was the perfect setting.”

With similar tastes for finding humor in life’s mishaps and finding nuggets of faith tucked among leaves of the everyday, Melby and Ruchti brainstormed stories that could help readers capture the wonder and charm of Door County. They brought two other authors into the project to write two of the four novellas in A Door County Christmas – Rachael Phillips from Indiana, and Eileen Key from Texas.

Already gracing the shelves of bookstores across the country, A Door County Christmas entertains its readers with laugh-your-way-to-love stories and a glimpse at the true heart of Door County as well as the true heart of Christmas.
