Nursing Students Provide Fluoride, Foot Care

NWTC nursing students from the Sturgeon Bay campus – in conjunction with Door County Medical Center’s Dental Clinic and the Washington Island Community Health Program – provided free fluoride teeth varnishing for Washington Island children and adults, as well as foot care for adults last month.

The Washington Island School coordinated fluoride permission slips and the children’s fluoride-varnish event. Thirteen children and eight adults were treated with fluoride, and 28 residents participated in the foot-care option.

The biannual, free fluoride-varnishing clinic and the free foot-care clinic are typically offered on Washington Island during the spring and fall.
