NWTC Expands Baking and Pastry Certificate

In response to demand for more training in the food-service industry, Northeast Wisconsin Technical College (NWTC) will expand the baking and pastry certificate at its Sturgeon Bay campus beginning in January.

“We are thrilled to expand the baking program to our Sturgeon Bay campus,” said Mike Vander Heiden, dean of business, information and technology. “This is a great opportunity for the Door County community to help build workforce development in the area.” 

The baking and pastry program is designed for those who have a passion for baking or dream of owning a cafe or bakery. The program will take place in the state-of-the-art kitchen at NWTC’s Sturgeon Bay campus. All credits from the baking and pastry certificate will transfer to the culinary specialist technical diploma
