NWTC Named 2016 American Association of Community Colleges Excellence Award Finalist

Northeast Wisconsin Technical College (NWTC) has been named a finalist for the 2016 American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) Excellence Award for Student Success. The Awards of Excellence recognize the exceptional work among the nation’s two-year colleges.

A finalist for the same award in 2014, NWTC has embraced the idea that every employee is responsible for finding ways to help students master their courses, remain in college and achieve a college credential.

Since launching the Dream initiative in 2010, the College has woven the concept of student success into every facet of the student experience. Through student support services, college readiness pathways, learning and classroom engagement, the creation of a culture of success and ongoing, evidence-based evaluation, NWTC has seen improved course pass rates, more students achieving better grades, and a rise in program persistence.

The winner will be announced at the annual AACC convention April 9-12.
